Phil posted : Last time I used AT&T for DSL was in 2000-1 so I can't make a recommendation. I still have 1 or 2 of the old Westell modems that I used, but I don't know if they'd work now. Hopefully someone will chime in on your other thread: »[DSL] ADSL modem/wireless router combo

I could have received a rebate for the full price with the next level of dsl service, but with an international move I can't really afford that monthly outgoing just yet...

Ebay is a good idea...can I be cheeky and ask if you have any suggestions on equipment? :D

Phil posted : The fact that they charge for that equipment certainly changes things. I've used AT&T in the past and the equipment (modem) was always free with a 1 year contract. You got to keep it after that. Have you considered eBay for a used one?

Phil posted : The WRT160N is a router only, not a modem. Why didn't you want to use AT&T equipment? I'd at least get a modem from them which you can bridge and let the router handle authentication to the ISP, DHCP, etc..

Welcome to the DSLReports.
