Ad pop-up windows everytime visit www.dslreports.com

I noticed since yesterday that everytime I visited www.dslreports.com and browsed through forums without actually log into my account, my browser (Mozilla Firefox 3.5) suddenly showed pop-up windows of some ads. I ran antivirus, antispam, and everything suggested in the Security Cleanup and found nothing.

I wonder if anybody else had the same experience, or was the pop-up windows site bugs (read: www.dslreports.com has been hacked), or simply new feature?

I am pretty sure this is normal for anonymous users who browse this site.

It is one of the perks for getting an account that we dont get ads.

The thing is I usually browse this site daily without login first and I never had the experience. The ad pop-up windows was just starting yesterday.

Ok then maybe it is something new. I have just heard that anon users see ads where registered users dont.

I never browse here as anon so I have never seen any pop ups or ads.

I'm not sure, but I think google manages the ads on the site.

After some investigation, it looked like the ad page was generated by pagead2.googlesyndication.com.

yes ... they do ... and you can switch them off if you are logged in. We do try to manage the filters to keep ads on point to topical interest to our site.
