Roku(Netflix) Player OpenSource Info

I just installed my new Roku player yesterday and was messing around on their website to see what all this thing can do and came across this little nibble.

What is funny though is they don't have a player that is compatible for watching movies online with Linux.

It's the same story with TomTom GPS navigation systems. The units run on the Linux kernel but the company itself only makes a Windoze and OSX version of the "HOME" software.

At least on the Roku Netflix box, Microsoft Silverlight does the heavy lifting. Roku probably signed a contract with Microsoft for the API. Nothing open source related with that so Roku does not have to release anything.
