Yup - between Bell/Telus going from CDMA at 98% of the population to HSPA+ at 93% of the population is a significant 'size' difference.
As far as HSPA+ goes, 'as long as you have a datacard' it may make some difference:.
I.e. Robbers/Rogers HSPA+ as posted on HoFo

Here's what 93% gives... nothing in the flyover provinces.
Almost all of Alberta and maritimes are covered... many other areas are not.
