One more hurdle....CD/DVD drives not working after new PSU

Click for full size
After installing a new PSU that had burnt out, my CD/DVD drives are not working. I can open both bays, the lights flash and I put in a CD but nothing happens. I went to device mgr and only one shows up with a error that it can not start. Is this easy to fix? Any Ideas?

Thanks

Do both drives show up in BIOS?

Also, read this KB article and run the Fix it »support.microsoft.com/kb/314060

Thanks Sandman5,

I went back into the computer and used the other cable from the PSU (it came with 2) and made sure all the connections were tight. Now both drives are listed but only one works.

I had a look at event viewer and found an error:
The driver has detected a device with old or out of date firmware The device will not be used.

I'm searching for firmware.

The DVD drive that is working is working poorly. I backed up all my info and was going to reload the OS hoping a fresh install would solve some of the problems but the DVD drive is making a bad grindind sound and The OS quits loading with a blue screen error.(That DVD drive has been on its way out for a while).

...still looking for answers...

This is the error on the blue screen that comes up when I try and reload the OS:

A problem has been detected on windows and has been shut down to prevent damage. Check for viruses. ( I have none )
Remove any newly installed hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run chkdsk / F

CD/DVD-ROM
Hard Disk drive
Floppy
Ethernet

CD/DVD Rom Drive Order
IL-DU-Steve-Som
TSSTcorp CD/DVDW

....What the heck is IL-DU-Steve-Som ??????

Thanks

PS. the Link has not yet helped.

Have you tried updating chipset drivers?

Otherwise, I'm wondering if your old PSU fried the optical drives as well??

I fixed it!

I was wondering if i fried them also. And the error message "Remove any newly installed hard drive controllers" was bothering me so i went back in again and pulled out the DVD drives to get a better look. There is very little room to work with them in the box. ( old pic with bad PSU to show tight fit ) I took a close look at the back pins and sure enough one was bent and one was shorter than the others, meaning it had to be a tight fit to hit. I straightened the other one and put it back together. Everything now works and I reloaded the OS on the now working other drive.

....i learned a few things on this one...

Thanks all.
