Screw Infinity Ward in the pocketbook! Don't buy this game at all!
If we wanted to play consoles, we would. But COD has always been about the PC market. I have every one of them, but will be avoiding this one like the plague. |

1 edit | reply to crytz said by crytz :I'm with everyone that hates the lack of support for dedicated servers and modding etc. But I just dont know how anyone can look past at a game as epic as this one. This really seems like it might be the game of the year. To me, with all the new additions their adding it just over shadows the shortcomings of this game. What is it that makes this game epic for you? 6 hour single player? The civilian killing spree level? Exactly what does it for you? Just curious.
said by crytz :I guess if you only play single player then this game probably isnt for you. To me, this game is ALL about multiplayer and yes I love the single player aspect as well but almost from day one I'm usually playing online. If you are buying this game for PC online MP then I am sorry, but you are going to be highly disappointed. 16 MP max, that is 8v8... they took 2 steps back. Matchmaking service provided by IWNet - This means you will join a playlist of what game type you like and others will join as well. Once you all are ready IWNet selects the best choice for a host. That client host is providing the network bandwidth for all you to play on his Residential connection. This is much slower than what a GSP can provide. Plus it also has to run on his hardware. He lags... you lag. Once that host disconnects or loses connection a new host in the current game is appointed, or if someone at his house jumps on another PC and starts eating up bandwidth... you all lag except for him. He has a zero ping since he is the host.
said by pr1mo :I take it all back as I was confused on the whole dedicated server issue. I knew nothing about the IWNET that will host games. I'm sorry and I will play this game. Read above about IWNet. This simply does not work for PC gaming and is truly taking 10 steps backwards from what we currently have in place that is proven to work... dedicated servers.
Dedicated servers= Dedicated Machine Dedicated Pipe Dedicated Support Dedicated Admins and last but not least (and the best aspect) Dedicated Communities!
*EDIT* I will not be purchasing MW2 |

| reply to crytz I will not be buying this game, most of my clan is just going to pirate it for the single player. Why? No dedicated server support, we're scattered all over the country so centralizing our servers is VERY important to maintain a balance in latency. -- I love fish sticks. | reply to JIGA Well Jiga, to me the graphics look amazing, the gameplay if its anything like the first MW, it should be bad ass. I love the perks, I love the fact that you can finally have a good secondary weapon like a sniper rifle or something.
I guess if the PC version sucks so much on MP then I'll give it a bad review on amazon or ebgames. Maybe, just maybe with enough horrible reviews the developer will wake up and do something about it. You dont think they read reviews? |

CoD4 and 5, compared to other PC games, are only above mediocre. the SP was horrendous compared to almost any other PC FPS.
on console, however, not many games can compete with the series. Not that anything is different about the game, but there's only so good of an FPS you can develop for the limited hardware and controls.
i knew i wasnt getting it when they announced the PC price with console tax. no DS was nail in the coffin - $60 for an above average online shooter? NTY -- Somnambulator - t3h 5133pw41k3r
