1 edit | reply to gate1975mlm Just a heads up.......there are many people having issues with this build. I was reading up on it at the Acronis forum, and there are lots of complaints of freezing, and not being able to uninstall.
It's running fine on my Win 7 system though. |

 SP 3.5 GUI |
I uninstalled ATI 2010 Home and use ShadowProtect 3.5 now. I still don't care for that confusing, garish GUI Acronis now uses. I will download this update, though... Thanks, GateMan!
[EDIT] Sorry about your Phillies... maybe next year! |

Other than that it works fine, but I am going to image back to my previous build.
EDIT: Oh, the countdown clock is messed up on this build too. |

4 edits | reply to howie Hey Howie,
Could you tell me a little bit about ShadowProtect 3.5?
Are back ups and restores fast?
Does in run well on Windows 7 64 Bit?
Is it easy to use and have a simple interface with out a lot of extra junk like True Image?
Can you make a backup restore CD?
Does it work well with out any errors most of the time?
Do they update it very often adding useless things? Like True Image LOL
Can you install it on 2 computers without having pay twice?
I have 2 computers in my home.
And last if I have a restore CD would I even need to install it on both my computers?
And do you think its wroth $80?
Also I see they offer a 1 year Maintenance plan for $16 Do you know if that can be extended for another year after that expires for another $16? Or would I have to pay the full price again? |

| reply to Keizer Build 5055 does have an issue with some USB connected devices causing a BSOD - one of the files that causes the BSOD relates to ATI 2010 (using ERD Crash Analyzer to determine file).

Imaging/restore times are pretty much in line with TI (about ~6GB/min. for me).
I have no idea how it runs on Windows 7 64-bit.
It has a much better GUI than TI, IMHO, without the extra "junk".
When you buy it, you download a restore ISO (500MB or so) that you can boot with to restore your system.
I've never encountered an error in the year or so I've been using it.
Probably 2-3 build updates a year.
No, you'll need a license for each machine. You cannot use it on two machines.
I think it's worth it, personally
Maintenance can be renewed and covers new versions (i.e. 3.X-4.X). I don't have it.
My guess is that you'll stick with TI. |

1 edit | reply to gate1975mlm Re: [Update] Acronis True Image 2010 Home Build 6029
Using this version (build 5055) for the first time with a boot disk I noticed that finally the progress bars actually conform more or less to real time and actual progress versus previous versions apparently just being a show without meaning. According to Keizer they might have blown this too with build 6029. -- "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows . . . . " -Bob Dylan |

1 edit | Not bad--for the price! Apparently the boot CD is only for restore but certainly that's the place you'd want it most (I usually do backups and restores with a boot CD). The site is a little confusing on support of Windows versions. At two points it says XP and Vista support and a third claims to also support 7.
