1 edit | Just seen these...
First time I have seen these and the first thing I thought of is those "big block" transformers wouldn't go well in this scenario without organization of the wiring. I know some of you know what I'm talking about. Have anyone used these yet? What are your opinions on them besides they are rather expensive.
FYI: "These" are Triplex Receptacles

| reply to screavic I see them for as low as $12 around the web. Still a lot though. Three plugs do work simultaneously, but the primary design idea was flexibility from what I have been reading. I'll pass.
quote: The second runner-up in this year's competition was Leviton Manufacturing's triplex receptacle. Designed to eliminate the need for a power strip or adapter, the Acenti triplex receptacle accommodates three plugs simultaneously, including two transformer-style plugs. Its top and bottom outlets are reversed so that transformer-style plugs can be plugged in at the same time without blocking the third outlet. Its precision components are designed to ensure perfect alignment. Compatible with standard electrical boxes, the device requires no special tools for installation. Every 3-prong transformer I have has the orientation so the case would cover all 3 outlets. Even if it was the right way, the plug is too far from the edge of the wart to allow any others to be used. |

1 edit | Same for 2 prong polarized transformers, the product would work for 2 prong non-polarized transformers however (provided they were not too large). As a retro fit, maybe, but if it was a new job or rewire, adding a double box is cheaper and more practical. |

| reply to screavic I think it would be useful in my kitchen where you might have mixtures of small appliances on the counter to plug in. Must be careful to not overload with two many big draw devices that might be used concurrently, but my counter is chock full of things that I use only one of at a time. -- nohup rm -fr /& |

I know I have a few polarized ones, but none with a 3rd prong for ground. But I agree that many wall warts cover both outlets with a traditional duplex, or if they don't cover both, makes it difficult to plug in two of them. I don't see how a third would fit. |
