Help Vonage sucking up all my bandwith?

Every time I make a call My ping goes tru the roof? My Conection is 15 down and 1.5 up.as soon as I hang up it goes back to norml? I went to vonage CP and lowerd bandwith but still no luck any help please

You don't say what Vonage adapter you're using, but if it's controlling your connection (providing QOS, first device connected to your modem) then that's not unusual. Using a different router to share your connection with the adapter would help, at the possible risk of having call issues (other party hears your side sound choppy).

thx for the help. I changed the conection from modem going to the router first rather than the vonage adapter. and that fixed it.
