I've had no signal for hours.. calling my cellphone gives a busy signal like my number doesn't even exist 
Something about the recent "Side Kick" outage is mentioned.
I'm on the phone with support... "the engineer's are working on the problems"
the guy on the phone confirms the side kick servers are functioning. |

My service here in Phoenix was down at least a few hours, but it has been back for the last 20 minutes. Strangely enough, data on my G1 never stopped working, but text and voice was out. Never have had a problem like this with T-mobile in my 7 years of service with them. |

Yeah something is going on.
There are provisions to help deal with outages at the local level, so having the entire network go down, the "fail safes" have obviously failed.
