Re: QUICK START

Yeah ... I know ... it was bad times all around. When it was 3, I got 1.2 ... when lowered to 1.5, I got 0.6 (Darned Terayon TeraPro platform!) Rogers were learning the ropes and unfortunately the cable plant topology laid by the private cable companies that Shaw bought in Toronto area was not up to the number of clients that exploded soon after Rogers and Shaw did their swap. So, one can't even totally blame Shaw. The network was good for cable ... just not good for 2way!

Yeah i got correct speeds on my TeraPro, lucky me... I remember the problems you and others faced... It was related to some kind of upstream multiplier, no?

Sorry to say, but the New Brunswick rollout is of the iGuide on Motorola boxes... Does not work on Cisco/SA boxes.

You sure about that? I recall reading documentation that specifically said both Motorola and SA equipment works with iGuide, also announced back in 2007: »www.businesswire.com/portal/site···sLang=en

Hmm, hadn't seen that before, thought I don't think it ever came to fruition. I've never seen iGuide on an SA box, anywhere. But even if it does happen, you're not in for a much better experience, believe me.

Have you seen the purple SA guide? Anything is better than that!

When I first went from SA guide to iGuide, I didn't like it. But over time I've come to like the iGuide better.... But by no means does it have much more functionality - it maybe looks nicer and is a bit quicker, but that's about it.

Does it have a real Search feature? If so, it's better than what Rogers offers now.

The latest version has some enhanced search functionality... Title search and categories, looks like.

Anything has to be better than the 11+ year old SA guide.

Ok, so I just got the letter announcing the new IPG in January.

Fingers crossed it'll be faster than the current one. And that the Search feature won't suck.

Really? Where do you live, can you scan or take a pic of the letter?

Doh, that is gonna be annoying. You press Guide and that stupid crap will come up? then you gotta press Guide again? It says nothing about a new Guide, so I assume its gonna be the same boring shit?

The new IPG is NOT a new Channel Guide. It is a front-end for previews, On-Demand and PPV services, a weather service, 4 games (Donkey Kong types), a couple of 6 channel mosaics.
Future versions may include a search feature. First push of the Guide button brings up the new IPG, a second push brings up the old Channel Guide.
