At around the same time every day...4:30 today, 4 yesterday...I lose access to google, can't connect to aim through trillian, can't use yahoo, and at the same time I start disconnecting from the server I use for gaming every 15 seconds or so. Everything else works fine. It's like this for all of the computers here, even if directly connected to the modem. Everything on my modem's page looks great, as far as I can tell. The last time this was happening to me...someone else posted about the same problem in this forum. I don't believe in a big hughesnet conspiracy, but I do believe it's a problem on -their- end.

FAPman posted : You should be able to access those services just fine unless latency is a issue with that specific service like (pop mail, chat, video, audio ,streaming, cams, servers, stocks, games, regular webmail sometimes an issue, vpn etc.) all of those things are high bandwidth - low latency services something that home plans do not offer. You should not have a problem searching google etc. , if you do i would base it on your computer(viruses, malware, misconfiguration) if you can access other sites just fine.

The American Arbitration Association is basically the same as the BBB but as part of the subscriber agreement contact with the AAA would be needed to resolve any official issue/claim hardware or service based.

They dont officially mention any throttle for fap or otherwise this is due to them holding specific numbers as proprietary. There is only a relation assumed by what is stated and experienced by us. A throttle can be from 7am-2am est 19 hours and it would still be considered within peak times, if they so choose or should i say how the NOC controls bandwidth allocation between those times based on the policies that are active for controlling that bandwidth, system wide, frequency wide, by each satellite or possibly each user.

I went through a heavy throttle in early September for over 2 weeks. Most sites just would not load until the free zone time and i wasnt under FAP.

"Attorney General and consumer protection division be sufficient enough to get something done?"
You have to remember that this is a service contract and not a sale of goods contract, if you dont know the difference i would suggest research. Most of the issues that you would contact them for would be from the sale of goods(hardware) and not from a service related issue/claim in other words it would only be wise to contact them in a commercial capacity relating to an actual breach in commerce or damage to person or property directly related to hardware.

scobbz posted : I am seeing a problem right now, 9PM Eastern and onward, that I have seen once before, in which very few web sites load and many attemts to reach major site like Google consistently fail with a 'server reset' message from my browser.

Seeing this on a Mac and an XP machine despite rebooting the modem. Can't even run HughesNet speed test, but I am posting this. Weird. It's like HughesNet has dropped or blocked a whole chunk of the net.

I am posting this in case others have a similar problem. The last time this happened was a few weeks ago and others experienced it. Then, like now, I was unable to get email for several hours. Last time it lasted several days then things picked up a bit and got better (although i have not seen a download speed over 500Kbps in months, and I on the Pro plan where I should sometimes see 1.6Mbps).

Stephen
