Both 32 & 64 bit java installations are working fine. -- Humor. A difficult concept. |

I just got it and noticed a few things.
1. The installer prechecks the option to install the Yahoo Toolbar. 2. Automatic updates have been enabled even though previously disabled. 3. I now have two versions of the Java Deployment Toolkit plugin installed in Firefox. 4. The Java Quickstarter extension (ver 1.0) was installed in Firefox without my permission.
Edit:
Disable or change automatic updates via Control Panel | Java | Update.
To remove the Java Quickstart extension, go to the Java Control Panel, Advanced Tab | Miscelleneous and uncheck Java Quick Starter. Restart Firefox.
If you have multiple versions of Java Deployment Toolkit, go to about:plugins and check the paths for the Toolkit. The new version places the plugin (npdeploytk.dll) directly into
C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins
Older versions of the plugin may be found in:
C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\new_plugin
Rename or delete the older version plugin and restart Firefox.
-- This is not a rehearsal. |

I didn't see the Yahoo toolbar option either but when I opened Firefox I saw that "New add-ons have been installed". And, as jmorlan says, I don't like add-ons being installed without my permission. |

I wanted the whole ball of wax. Now happily running the Yahoo Toolbar, the plugins, the startup items...heck, it even installed a new kitchen sink for me!
lol...just kidding. Thanks again. -- I had a life once.....now I have a Computer and a Modem. |
