[DSL] higher pings? - ronmexico

my ping times avg. 50 ms. but the problem is when i do a voip test my QoS is always below 50%. during the test the max pause will always somewhere between 200ms-400ms. playing video games on my PS3 is always laggy with dslextreme. watching youtube is awful. im about two hours away from just cancelling and keeping my cable internet. ive called a hunded times and dslextreme always says well youre download and upload speeds look fine and theres nothing they can do. they cant send out a tech b/c "theyre busy and we cant send them out for no reason."

voip test: »myspeed.visualware.com/voip/
dslextreme should use this test instead of their crappy speed test. then maybe they can see the problem for themselves.

I took a look at your line and show that the modem is currently out of sync. Can you verify that the modem is connected and plugged in?

Thanks

Your current line readings are below. Though they are a little marginal we were able to get your line set to a fast path profile. You were previously on an Interleaved profile which is why there was additional latency. Hopefully your line will remain stable at this profile. You should be good to go.

DN STREAM SPEED The line is running at the maximum bit rate of 3008 kbps.
UP STREAM SPEED The line is running at the maximum bit rate of 512 kbps.
DN STREAM S/N The line noise margin is 10.0dB, which is above the target noise margin of 6.0dB.
UP STREAM S/N The line noise margin is 16.0dB, which is above the target noise margin of 6.0dB.
DN STREAM POWER The line power is 16.0dBm, which is below the maximum of 20.0dBm.
UP STREAM POWER The line power is 12.0dBm, which is below the maximum of 13.0dBm.
DN STREAM LINE CAPACITY The line is running at 76.0% of relative capacity on downstream transmission path.
UP STREAM LINE CAPACITY The line is running at 60.0% of relative capacity on upstream transmission path.
