It doesn't bother me that they don't backup the .ISO files, but not backing up the .EXE files caused me to do a workaround. Generally it doesn't matter to me, since the source code files I've written in Pascal do get backed up (so I can recompile them again if necessary). I still like to back up their .EXE versions. So I simply rename the extension on copies of .exe files I want backed up -- works for me.
anon posted : Appreciated the discussion here and just wanted to clarify. When we say "unlimited" we really mean it. Some of our customers are storing over 10 TB of data with us. Of course, we lose money on those customers, but on average, we make money. We don't assume that ISPs have caps (Comcast published their cap a while after we launched our service)...rather we assume most people have an amount of data that we can afford to backup.

Over the last couple years that we have offered the service we have received great writeups by TechCrunch, Ars Technica, Cnet, US News, and hundreds of other sites (»www.backblaze.com/news.html).

And if you are interested in learning how we can afford to offer this, a month ago we published our storage hardware design on our blog: »blog.backblaze.com/2009/09/01/pe···storage/.

We hope you enjoy the service!
Gleb Budman
CEO, Backblaze
