[FiOS] Coax wire not available for install

I'm interested in the DSL Extreme fiber, which is available in my area. I looked at the install FAQ, and it states:

quote:
From the ONT box they use the existing COAX or cable wire and run wires into the house.
I am going to keep my Time Warner TV service, so I don't believe there will be an existing coax wire available. Will they run new cable?

Also, it was my intent to go with the 1-year contract. Is there a 30-day cancellation period without ETF if I'm dissatisfied with the service?

Thanks

There are several possibilities when the existing coax is in use:
•VZ may run an additional coax from the ONT to where the router will be.
•VZ may run run cat5 from the ONT to the router.
•VZ may use a device called a MOCA NID which allows the MOCA signal from the ONT to share the coax. The MOCA frequencies are above those used by cable, so there no interference with the existing cable signal.
Which one is used depends on the circumstances of the particular install.

Here's a thread with some more info on fiber installs specific to DSLX:

Thanks for the response. Before posting, I browsed through older forum threads but missed that one.

Based on the wording of their FAQ, I got the impression that DSL Extreme had different install policies than Verizon. If the install is done by Verizon to Verizon standards, I'll be happy.

I read through the "High Speed Internet Terms of Service" and did not find a 30-day trial period for subscribers who choose annual contracts. It did say that the early termination fee would be waived if there is a "service-related problem" but that is something decided by DSL Extreme and the fee is $250. That doesn't sound very good.

Anyways, thanks again for the response.
