| Millenicom Not Supporting Option 452 ?
Millenicom on my request (thru Dennis) contacted Option company about an issue (external antenna attachment) with the cell modem 452 - this issue was not answered by Millenicom's vendor/activator Simple-Mobility. A cc of the issue email was sent to Simple-Mobility.
Well guess what - the manufacturer and Simple-Mobility don't agree on the antenna issue - Option states that an external antenna is not possible (direct email back and forth with Dennis of Millenicom) - Simple-Mobility in an email to me stated Yes an external antenna can be attached and directed me to a website for a sample cable attachment.
This follows a connection problem with the modem - when Millenicom was contacted via phone, the tech pushed me off to Simple-Mobility for support
As of now I sent an email to Dennis of Millenicom with concerns about this device being properly supported.
It has been two days since the email was sent and no response from Dennis of Millenicom. |

| They also referred me to Simple Mobility when I had my connection problems last month.
I'm having it again, I think due to a massive GSM outage which is affecting T-Mo and AT&T. -- Win Vista Home Prem x64 SP2, Intel Centrino Core2 Duo P7350 @ 2 GHz, 6 GB RAM, 1 GB ATI Radeon 6400 HD video, 453 GB HDD, Millenicom Wireless Internet |

| reply to stevenjb0 I 'had' a connection issue too with the Option 452 this morning.
After speaking with Dennis at Millenicom and Andre at Simple Mobility it was determined that the software loading from the device was incorrect and possibly misconfigured - I had to reinstall the Globe Trotter Manager from a download on the Manufacturers site.
The error code I was getting was: 0x84000011.
This post is being done while connected through the Option 452.
Thank you to Dennis and Andre for their valued time in dealing with this connection issue. |

1 edit | That's the error I always get when it refuses to connect. I'll download it from the site and try it next time this happens.
I downloaded the GlobeTrotter Connect software from the Icon 452 page. Do I also need either of the driver installers?

| You only need the New drivers if you are running Win 7.
Be sure to uninstall the original Globe Trotter from the Control Panel, reboot - then install the new software. You will need to reconfig the new software - the instructions came with the 452 - or call Simple Mobility.

| The site says I would only need the Win 7 drivers if I did a clean install. I intend to do an upgrade install. If I did an upgrade install, then I would just uninstall the old GlobeTrotter and install the new one and it would work in Win 7, right?
I will email them and ask. -- Win Vista Home Prem x64 SP2, Intel Centrino Core2 Duo P7350 @ 2 GHz, 6 GB RAM, 1 GB ATI Radeon 6400 HD video, 453 GB HDD, Millenicom Wireless Internet |

| Banner day for me! I turned my machine on and connected as usual. After seven minutes, however, my connection died. I attempted to reconnect and got the usual error message.
I uninstalled GlobeTrotter and installed the newer version I'd downloaded yesterday. I configured it with gne in the APN field, but still no connection.
I emailed Simple Mobility and spoke with them on the phone. We confirmed that everything was set as it should be. They said there was really nothing else they could do, then called back and said they'd heard from T-Mo that they are upgrading in my area.
These upgrades have left me with no Internet every morning this week except yesterday. How much does T-Mo need to do. The Simple Mobility guy also said that Millenicom has started a new Sprint Unlimited service just this week. Is this the Franklin modem one, or something newer?
How's everyone else's day going? Pleasantly, I hope. -- Win Vista Home Prem x64 SP2, Intel Centrino Core2 Duo P7350 @ 2 GHz, 6 GB RAM, 1 GB ATI Radeon 6400 HD video, 453 GB HDD, Millenicom Wireless Internet |
