| reply to pwrtoppl Re: Poll for 3.3 going live
Next year probably makes the most sense at this point. It seems too early to release given the class changes and the fact that they normally don't envelop PTR class changes in a current arena season (as much as I'd like to see Warlock and Ele T9 nerfs go live, I can't WAIT till next season).
I also believe they aren't done with some classes yet. I can see some Rogue buffs going out, and I don't know if the PTR version of Scourge Strike is going to make it live given the wide range of damage in PvP.
I used to be in a guild that had several Blizzard employees in it, and they'd usually give off subtle hints, not anymore though. -- "If it can't be done with brains, it can't be done with hours" - Clarence "Kelly" Johnson

November 17th, before Thanksgiving as always. That way its perfect for when they release the new Xpac exactly a year later! If the new xpac comes out 12 months after 3.3, they will need to fill that time with something. They have already said 3.3 is the last raid content patch (or at least that was the original plan, they wanted Arthas to be the main focus and not get overshadowed like Illidan was by Kil'Jaeden).
So speculation time, what would they fill 12 months with? Personally I still think it will be 8 months max between 3.3 and 4.0. But if they did go 12 months+ on epossibility would be that we kill Arthas' body, but the Lich King survives in some form and must be confronted a second time in a "surprise" raid released a few months later. Doubtful, but just throwing it out there. |

1 edit | I haven't gotten that update tonight yet, but I know they updated the launcher today, and probably included a new background downloader torrent file for when back ground data goes live.
Edit: Got the small launcher patch. Still no data yet. -- How lucky am I to have known someone who is so hard to say good-bye to. |

1 edit | reply to pwrtoppl All three 5-man dungeons have been tested. All ICC bossed are being tested, some for the second time. Art and achievements that were placeholders last week have been finalized. 5-man, ICC raid, Ashen Verdict rep and Emblem of Frost loot tables are in. Tier 10 sets are in.
Barring something unforeseen 3.3 will be here before 2010. |

| reply to pwrtoppl ICC is going to be here sooner than people think.
Blizzard probably realizes ToC has gotten stale already for a lot of guilds.
I know a lot of guilds on my server that are now D/E'ing most the shit from regular 25ToC, and then D/E'ing a lot even after they run their alts through there.
I hope 3.3 drops either Dec 1st. or the 8th. |

| reply to pwrtoppl I don't see them releasing their signature raid for this expansion at any time in December. Raiding is usually brutal in December, with all the college kids having finals followed by travelling. Couple that with holiday parties and a lot of guilds don't even try in December. -- The goggles! There's a stark difference between releasing a leveling expansion and a content patch that includes the expansion's signature raid, though. Attendance drops very low around the holidays for raiding guilds.
I still don't see it coming out till January, in my opinion anyways. -- "If it can't be done with brains, it can't be done with hours" - Clarence "Kelly" Johnson

| lol, a ton of people were fully leveled and raiding Naxx 10/25 in the first week of December last year, myself included.
I just don't see why releasing ICC in the month of December would be any different or against the rules?
December is usually one of the busiest months for raiding. A lot of people take vacations, crappy weather = stay in doors, etc. |

| reply to pwrtoppl First week of January. Still no pre-download data is available (as of this morning before I left for work). You get a good 3-4 weeks of the first push, another 2-3 weeks after the second push. -- How lucky am I to have known someone who is so hard to say good-bye to. |
