The Quel swords (forged by High Elves) get different qualties depending on which dragonflight breathes on them. For example, Quel'Serar comes from the Black Dragonflight (iirc) where as the other versions of Quel (Quel'Delar and its many different versions) retain properties of the dragonflight that breathed on them.

I just don't see why releasing ICC in the month of December would be any different or against the rules?

December is usually one of the busiest months for raiding. There's a stark difference between releasing a leveling expansion and a content patch that includes the expansion's signature raid, though. Attendance drops very low around the holidays for raiding guilds.

Blizzard probably realizes ToC has gotten stale already for a lot of guilds.

I know a lot of guilds on my server that are now D/E'ing most the shit from regular 25ToC, and then D/E'ing a lot even after they run their alts through there.

I also believe they aren't done with some classes yet. I can see some Rogue buffs going out, and I don't know if the PTR version of Scourge Strike is going to make it live given the wide range of damage in PvP.

I used to be in a guild that had several Blizzard employees in it, and they'd usually give off subtle hints, not anymore though. :(

My guess is based off past actions taken by Blizzard Entertainment in regard to patches.

Edit: I remember when the BC preparation patch, patch 2.0, came out during the first week of December 2006 and introduced the new honor system. Played non-stop steamroll AB with a premade all Christmas Break. Burning Crusade then released in January 2007.

Also -- didn't they push back 2.3 to December because they didn't want to deal with the maintenance a major content patch required during the Thanksgiving holidays? I seem to recall that being the excuse when people had been asking "Where's 2.3?! The background downloader started a month ago!"

The current arena season started September 1st. Season 5 was 17 weeks and season 8 was 18 weeks. It's been 9 weeks, so we're only about halfway through this season.
