2010 Accord Coupe vs 2010 ALtima Coupe

Hi. I am currently in this dilemma b/t the 2010 Accord coupe LX-S 4 cyl and the 2010 Altima Coupe 2.5 S CVT 4 cyl.
I think both of these two vehicles cost approximately 22k - 23k out the door (of course not now, probably late Nov or Dec). I first leaned more to Accord since everyone has been talking about Honda's reliability and resale value, also Accord is well-known for delivering a comfortable, smooth ride. However, after I have done my lots of research, it appears to be true that the 08, 09 and even 10 Accord models have severe premature brake squeaking issue. Honda Cooperate knows about the problem, but they claim that there is no fix and customers are responsible for paying for the repair, meaning that we have to pay about $300 every 10k miles (based on carcomplaints.com) to change the brake. After I found out this, I started leaning more to Altima. I have looked through a lot of reviews, and it seems like the cons of Altima is that it is not as comfortable as Accord, low resale value, kid-size back seat and extremely sensitive brake.
I checked the true cost to own estimation on both cars on edmunds.com, the cost is pretty much the same. Here's the link to the Altima and Accord, respectively »www.edmunds.com/new/2009/nissan/···&vdp=off
»www.edmunds.com/new/2009/honda/a···&vdp=off

So please give me some suggestion on this dilemma. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated. I plan to keep this car for 5 years, and that's why I want to make sure I make the right decision.
Thanks a lot.

Does the Altima require premium gas (due to the high compression ratio engine design) and does the Accord run on regular gas (due to a lower compression ratio engine)??

Best thing to do is to test drive both. Personally, I'm a Nissan guy, so I can't really offer you an unbiased opinion.

Honda? Whatever!

OK then...I think your question is answered. $300 every 10,000? I thought Honda was better than that.

What I concern more is the repair and maintenance in the future though. But yeah, I will test drive both.

Yea, based on the statistic on carcomplaints.com, the average miles of replacing the brake is 10k. One of the customer reviews regarding 2010 Accord on Edmunds.com is already complaining the brake issue when it was only 3 digits on the odometer, although the rest of the review is very positive comments.

That's fine, BUT... way too much money for a return on every other feature.

Is this not self-explanatory?

No, that is incorrect, some of the brand new vehicles with high output or high performance engines "require" premium fuel because their engines are higher compression ratios (that's where the power comes from) and it states so in the specific models Owners Manual. The 4Cly 2.5 Nissan doesn't require it, but the 6Cly 3.5 Nissan DOES require it.

More cars than ever require premium fuel

Questionable grammar aside, it seems clear to me that kevin was referring to the 2 vehicles in question.

In 2008 the Altima 2.5 required Premium fuel so I doubt they downgraded the enigine C/R to now use Regular.

That is Nissan Altima V6 3.5L that requires premium fuel. But I am looking into Nissan Altima 2.5 S 4cyl. Those are two different models.

And the following links show that the four uses regular:
»autos.aol.com/cars-Nissan-Altima···le-trims
»www.ewheels.ca/scripts.dll?actio···&target=

Notably:

Cannot deeplink --> (Nissan Altima Coupe 4 cyl, 2.5 L, Automatic (variable gear ratios), Regular)

Deep link like this?

That page for the 2010 Models shows that both the 2.5 and the 3.5 use the word "Regular", but that can't be accurate, can it?

Yet this page shows Premium on the 2009 3.5 unlike the 2010 Model.
