Usual service?

Isn't the outage on par with everyday service from T-mobile anyway?

I have been with t-mobile for 7 years, and this is the only major service outage I am aware of. The sidekick thing was Microsoft's fault, even though it really hurt a lot of t-mobile customers. Anytime I have ever called their support, they have been helpful and friendly. While I don't think a national multi-hour outage is acceptable, I'm not going to jump the gun because I think they are still a better company at the core than any of the other providers.

This aint Cricket. I've been with TMO for 9 years, and I've never experienced an outage. Of course, I don't use UMA, and I don't have a sidekick, so.... yeah.

I've been with TMO since they were VoiceStream and I've never suffered an outage or at least not one that I was aware of. I have nothing but good things to say about the company, with the exception of lousy 3G coverage.

Spoken like someone who has no idea what they are talking about.

Four years with the service and this is the ONLY outage I have had.

I"ve been with T-Mo for only a year before switching to VZW, but I know they haven't had any outages in all these years of being around (it would've made news).

Seconded. Besides a serious outage during Hurricane Katrina (name me one provider that didn't have issues in the southeastern US) it's been very solid for me.

One thing that really bothered me last night were how so many people's first reactions to the outage was to threaten running to another carrier. No one guarantees constant, uninterrupted service. The reason for this is that there are things that happen that are beyond anyone's control.

That being said, I'd much prefer that T-mo had been a little more open about what actually happened. Just level with us, and you'd find us more willing to accept things.

We have had at least one phone in our house with T-Mo for the past 9 years. This is the first interruption of service that I have heard of - no we were not affected, having been using the phone without issue.

I can state that their customer service is heads above everyone else (I also have AT&T and VZW - so I know how they compare).

As others have said, their 3G coverage is lousy but the phone we have is used only for voice calls so I don't care.

T-mobile is not a re-branded VoiceStream, they were bought out by DT in 2001 to plant the base for DT's wireless arm in the us (T-mobile usa). This was mainly to counter rival vodaphone's verizon wireless partnership. This was 2001, 8 years ago.

I third that. T-mobile has always been solid, and the customer service is WAY WAY WAY beyond the other big 3.

You're right, but my point was that I've been with T-mobile since the beginning and I have been happy with their service.

They do have satisfied happy customers & i respect them as a company more than ccast, vzw, sprint, etc. I'm with att for my own reasons one huge reason being roll-over minutes, iPhone just a perk.

I think bashers/whiners need to learn to put some "i am happy with this aspect" in with their "oh my goddddd it suckssss" because yea they wouldn't be in business if they were "that bad".
