Seattle best server?

Noticing a delay in communication. Was wondering if anyone could suggest the server they use for Seattle (on Comcast).

In VT control panel I was assigned chicago-6.vtnoc.net but am thinking that sanjose-1d.vtnoc.net would be more apropos. Any other servers I should think about?

I have done some pinging/tracerouting but that isn't the full picture. How do others go about finding the best server for them?

Thanks!

Haven't verified if these are still accurate. But here is a list of servers and locations. With the exception of hightower calls get handed off to local gateway. Thus you shouldn't be seeing any kind of delay.

Viatalk Servers

megatron.vtnoc.net 205.234.241.162 chicago
galvatron.vtnoc.net 205.234.241.170 chicago
grimlock.vtnoc.net 174.133.67.154 houston
optimusprime.vtnoc.net 72.51.39.152 LosAngeles
shockwave.vtnoc.net 76.74.236.96 LosAngeles
hightower.vtnoc.net 216.120.237.24 (unknown used to be chicago) (Legacy server)
Edit: Update all above ips are accurate. chicago-6.vtnoc.net does resolve to 216.246.105.146 Guess not all of the servers got new names or I am missing some.

sanjose-1d.vtnoc.net doesn't resovle.

dcurrey,

Thanks for the info. I have assigned optimusprime.vtnoc.net to line 1 and shockwave.vtnoc.net to line 2 for testing with much better results.

I'm in Portland and been using Optimusprime for months without issues. Been working great for me.
