nitewulf posted : i think rogers is doing that on purpose, because u get a voip and unlimited internet by rogers u will not get all from your internet.
its happening to me too, for the past month the videos from any site are buffering and its unwatchable, also loading flash content is taking for ages, on the other hand, newsgroups are downloading at full speed, anything else looks like being throttled for no reason whatsoever, even the best thing is ,their customer service know nothing about it, and they deny anything. if this will continue I'm switching to bell, I know will pay way more and be caped, but nowadays they have the best service possible to get and speed is really sweet on dsl2

amd7674 posted : I've got call from Cia.com today, and they told me it is a problem on their end. Too many customers at the peak hours causing this and he doesn't have ETA on when the problem will be fixed. To me it is not only peak hours...

So should I wait or call Robbers to try to make a deal? :(

amd7674 posted : I use their 7mb cable service and overall I've been happy from what I was getting. However for the past several weeks I see a lot of internet slowdowns (streaming video, surfing, even downloading). The worst is I cannot watch any streaming videos anymore, i.e. hockey games from cbc.ca or videos on youtube. Videos are always in buffering, then I get few seconds than it is buffering again, then it is on and so on, basically it is uwatchable. Same sites worked fine several weeks ago, but now it is too slow, even my better half (not picky as me) noticed internet being slower. I've disconnected my router, changed cables, and tried running Broadband Tests on two different PCs, so I don't think it is my end. I did call them today and I've opened a ticket, support said they will send me an email with some link to run some tests and after they told me to sent them back results.

I like the price and 'no cap' privilege, but not being able to watch streaming videos these days is a deal breaker for me.... and if that won't be resolved in a few weeks I might have to switch back to Robbers... :uhh:

So are there any other users in Ottawa valley (Barrhaven) using their cable high-speed lines with similar issues?

TIA ;)
