eDon posted : FIXED!

Thanks to Phil and Netfixer for the help and suggestions.

I tracked down the cause of my distress - a defect in the liveware here.

Apparently at some point a port forwarding rule was placed in the router that should not have been there. I killed the bogus rule and, like magic, everything is working as it should.

Hopefully this will be of help to someone in the future who is as dense as me.
--
Don

To test if there is actually a problem with pinging the WAN interfaces on the RV016, you could setup one WAN port for static IP, and setup a PC for the same subnet and connect it to that WAN interface. If that WAN port is pingable from the PC, then your current problem is with your modem/ONT/ISP.
--
History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid.
-- Dwight D.
Phil posted : What does your network consist of (e.g., modem->router->clients)? Is your modem a modem or is it modem/router combo? Are you in fact trying to ping your WAN IP address (»www.ipchicken.com will give that to you)?
