After that happens we find out that he has a very bad temper, snaps like crazy, drinks non stop and is also suicidal and owns two firearms. Anyhow, things did not work out between the two of them and now he is taking the blame out on us. He called the humane society on us. They showed up this morning, I let them in and let them see the animals. They agreed that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the animals whatsoever. I explained to the person that this individual made a false report against us but understood why they had to come out. He has been a walking time bomb, and anything will set him off it seems. We have done nothing wrong to this person. Infact I taught him how to iron shirts as he did not know how to, and helped him out when he got drunk and ended up shaving his head. I am concerned that he will either do something to himself or others if he snaps like he has been known to do. I am hoping now that he has been recently diagnosed with depression, that the government will do the right thing and revoke his PAL licence, but I highly doubt that will happen. I would rather not move because I like it here, but might end up having to. Anyone have advice as to what I can do about this situation? I have tried on numerous occasions to talk to him about this, but he is not being rational whatsoever.

I guess you learn the hard way. I had a bipolar roommate. I tried to help the guy but all he talked about was he was thinking killing people without getting caught. He didn't drink but man this guy had a bad temper, the worst thing is that he carried a knife. I learned quick not to make friends so quickly and make sure they don't live near me or their ex.
Kitlope posted : This is why I don't become buddies with neighbors. Things are usually wonderful at first but then the darkside rears its ugly head. Its all just a matter of time. I went through this years ago in my early 20s with neighbors and since then have always led a low profile.

Currently, I live in a decent part of town in a rented Coachhome (just like a townhouse). There's a few families, some young people but overall most people around here are decent enough. Most keep to themselves it seems.

At the end of April there was some people (guy & gf + roomate) move in about 20 feet from where I park my car in the parking lot. They were always outside drinking beer and after a few weeks I finally joined them. I found out they were in their 30s & 40s. I only did this to be neighborley, shoot the small chat and would have a few with them and then go home (I politely declined beers with them a few times). After that I had a few beers with them 3 or 4 times over the next month only because they were sitting there and offered. I never stayed longer than about an hour or so. I guess the one guy, Chris figured we were now "buddies". He started coming over to my place looking for cigarettes, beers, rolling papers and all sorts of shit. It became a real pain in the ass and I quit answering my door or just telling him that "I didn't have any". It wasn't everyday or anything so was tolerable but still enough to start pissing me off.

One day, in July the remote for my car alarm chirped so I knew something happened to the car. I went outside to investigate and Chris, sitting there drinking beer, had thrown an egg at my windshield. I'm like "wtf"?

He laughed, said he would clean it and he did but did a shit job so I had to take a power nozzle to it at the car wash. I came back and gave him shit, but in a polite way saying that it was disrespectful. The guy didn't have a car and didn't have a pot to piss in so I knew that if I didn't handle this in a certain way my car would be jeapordized. Needless to say, after that nonsense I quit going over there.

All they did out there all summer and fall was sit out there and drink beer into the late hours, upsetting many neighbors. I quit parking in my own stall once the passive aggressive bullshit started. I parked on the road, out of sight of them (and a different walkway to my apartment) for the summer and fall until it got cold. When I started using my stall again there was always one of their buddie's vehicle in it (even though visitor parking was 40 feet away). I had told Chris that I was going to start using the stall again so *hint hint* don't let your drug infested friends park in it. Its funny when you have to deal with idiots because now I was the bad guy for wanting to park in my paid stall! Towards the last couple weeks of October it got especially bad and some real winners started hanging out around on their patio. One night, with about 6 of them whooping it up, one beat up looking broad said as I pulled up to my stall that had one of their vehicles in it "If you got something to say get out of the fucking car". I knew if I reacted though serious bullshit would start.

I was ready to go to managment but the girl that runs the place joins them sometimes for beers and was screwing the one roomate so I knew it would be fruitless. I would actually have to contact the regional office if I wanted any results but I was holding off.

But I remembered something from when I first met them ...

I recall they mentioned they were on a 6 month lease. Come around a couple days after halloween it got awfully quiet around there. Real quiet. Especially after all the action of October. They had left a light on in the main bedroom so when walking by (a sidewalk was just a few feet away) you could tell that they grabbed whatever was valuable. Pennies and bags littered the floor and a couple of old nightstands were left. Imagine my lack of surprise when just a few days ago I see all their crap at the dumpster. Couches, Tables, lamps, clothes, family pictures...all sorts of stuff. HaHa They did a Midnight Move! wooohooo! Or can you call it that when they leave most of their junk?

Its been almost 2 weeks since they have been gone. Thank god, peace and quiet has returned to the community. :)
