Register Only

I have a T-1 w/static IP for business and am wanting to set up a small server for e-mail and a simple web page. I'm looking for a registrar who can point my A and MX record to my IP.

I contacted hostgator and they said they could do it manually for me. I've had hosting service through networksolutions and in their control panel I can do the pointing and configuration myself which is what I would like to be able to do.

Can anybody recommend a registrar that can provide name registration with out a hosting package ? I would rather not use network solutions.

Thank you very much for the info. This looks like the service I am after. No contact phone number, but hey, what can possibly go wrong ?

Edit - I would be happy to pay $25 or $30 a year if I could find a company with a more robust customer service department, even if it comes with a hosting package ( that I would not be using ). GoDaddy is OK, but I've had a few run-ins with some poor tech support.

I also prefer NameCheap, but if you are looking for a registrar with phone support, give Moniker a try.

Buy the domain name from Godaddy and then point it to everydns.com. Problem solved.

I use godaddy. They have a fully 24/7 call center that I believe is right in Arizona with them. Their support is fairly consistent and their control panel lets you pretty much do anything you'd want. And, financially I don't think they are going anywhere for a long time.

I have to say I'm a chump for Bob's silly videos too, I find them wildly amusing and occasionally insightful.

To each his own...
