[Config] ASA 5500 - monitor traffic on wan interface via SNMP?

Howdy,

I know how to do this on a router, but I've never touched a Cisco FW. Docs seem a bit sparse on the cisco site.

I'm looking to create a restricted snmp view that allows a single outside IP to poll the counters on the outside interface of an ASA 5500. Only needs to be snmpv1. Final use is just a simple mrtg graph.

Any pointers? I would assume that beyond the normal snmp setup, there would be a very specific rule to allow this, correct?

Re: [Config] ASA 5500 - monitor traffic on wan interface via SNM

The way that I've got one of my employer's ASA-5505s to do this is enable SNMP on (in my case) both the outside and inside interfaces on the unit. You should be able to use the standard snmp setup to do this.

I use either MRTG or PRTG for visualization and alerting. Any other questions, please feel free to ask.
