CableLabs won't have a replacement (DCAS) ready for prime time for at least several years. They're also REQUIRED by FCC regulation for cable boxes.
So they're neither worthless or short-lived. |

self serve anything is just a call generator anyway. unless the person has technical knowledge they should just have a tech come out. because from my experience too many people need help to plug in the power cord.
