Krispy posted : Your IP is residential so it's normal to see it on blacklists. The IP the remote server should be checking against blacklists is Cogeco's SMTP server IPs, ie: 216.221.81.30. That said if you weren't able to send mail due to a blacklist issue you'd get a bounceback stating explicitly which blacklist was causing you issues, if you do have one of those post it. Also note that blacklists typically wouldn't cause issues on receiving mail. From the sounds of it your email issues are wholly unrelated to be blacklist issues, you've either got clientside email application or configuration issues or there's something corrupted with your mailbox (rare), you should probably call in for more in-depth troubleshooting to resolve this.
--
you can lead a horse to the water but you cannot make him drink...you can put a man through school but you cannot make him think --ben harper

Fonguy posted : I can, but if the block of IPs is blacklisted, that may not work,
I resolved my outgoing email issues by creating my own smtp server and testing is now proving I can send out emails with no issue . I am now waiting to see about the incoming. I also would like to thank the mxtoolbox person for calling, that was outstanding and I really appreciate that.

Fonguy posted : thank you for your reply, I have looked up the reports, tried to follow along, but I am unsure about the 24 IP address that is appearing, I am not using anything near that so I am assuming it is a Cogeco one? I think I was able to request a delisting on a couple of the sites, but not sure. I am still kinda lost over this.

MxToolBox posted : Fonguy,

Sorry to hear that you are having blacklist troubles. I checked your IP via our Blacklist tool and I do see that you are listed on quite a few lists.

You can follow the links to the Blacklist websites (via the "details" link or the Blacklist name) and request delisting directly from them. I also want to provide you with a link to a very handy article we posted on our blog - What Blacklists Are and How MxToolbox Helps! The article will explain a lot about how our services eliminate the problems blacklists cause and how they are oftentimes recurring and hard to permanently fix.

If you can't get resolution to the problems, don't hesitate to call or e-mail me and we can discuss the problems further. Thank you!!

Thanks,
MxToolBox

[Niagara] Email Issues

Fonguy posted : Hello, I have read and searched and not found the same issue I am having. We are using Outlook and have our smtp going out over the smtp.cogeco.ca. Anything we send out does not get delivered, as well, people sending us emails, we do not receive them. However, using gmail, yahoo or an acanac smtp and dsl line, we can send and receive no issue. Not once is any type of bounce back message received by either us or people sending us emails, it all looks as if it goes through. I did the MX test and see that the IP is listed as blacklisted. Now I am not the type of person to start off blaming anyone, in fact, my first approach is what have I done wrong, although this is a new issue for us and we have not changed nor altered any settings on our network.

Look forward to any suggestions, thank you, Fonguy

Here is the result of the test-----

SuperTool Beta
Command:
blacklist:24.141.88.100 blacklist

We notice you are on a blacklist.
