Anyone playing it yet? I downloaded it Tuesday Night and played it for about an hour last night.
Here is my take for what it's worth
Graphics: About the same as L4D. (My Impression)
Monsters: Some nice additions, such as the Jockey who jumps on your back and a team mate has to shoot it off. The Spitter is a nasty one as well spits acid.
Melee Weapons: You can replace your pistol for a Frying Pan, Machete or Police Baton just to name a few. It's sweet to see heads and body parts go flying when you use the Machete.
Weapons: A couple of different assault rifles, sniper rifles, a couple of pistols.
There are several new items like Portable Defibrillator's to raise dead team mates, throw-able vomit etc..
It's worth a look. I am pre-ordering my copy tomorrow. I can't wait to try the baseball bat.

I have a question: are the melee weapons actually... good? I get that they would be fun, but does it feel like you're actually hurting the team's chances by switching to one? I'm just afraid it won't make sense when you're really playing seriously. Which is a shame, don't get me wrong, I like the idea a lot.
Can you be just as successful (or even more so) with a bat than a handgun? It just doesn't seem to make conceptual sense, you want to stay away from the melee enemies.

guhuna I logged on with my steam account and clicked on install demo and nothing happens at all.Wonder if they are having problems with lots of people trying to get it at same time.Server overload .Or did they pull it because people are having trouble installing it.I have done a google search and see a lot of people complaining about problems installing it. |

I think the Machete is the best/ most fun of the Melee weapons I've had a chance to use so far. When you are getting gang-mobbed there is no reload time to slow you down.

Did you get a prompt to do a Stream Client update? I did and after it updated and restarted the computer I notices the download was processing. |

Strange, I'm downloading it now.
Soon as I clicked that link it brought up a window that asked me if I already had the steam client installed. I clicked yes and steam automatically started to download it.
I'd see if steam needs to be updated. |

Gave the demo a try. Eh. It's alright. I had to play it on Expert to have any fun. Seems easier than L4D. Still not sure if I'm a fan of the daylight levels. Isn't as scary and will make it harder for the zombie team to sneak up on the survivors. New weapons and items were cool. New special infected were cool. I want to play it, but I'll probably wait for sale prices. |

despite all the additions and tweaks (which i like) it still felt like i was playing an expansion. also, controls and movement feel different. not sure how, it just doesnt feel the same.
wont be buying until its really cheap, if at all |

I also had a change of heart on this game after playing the demo for a few days. I canceled my pre-order. I couldn't help but feeling like I was playing L4D after a few hours of the demo. I'll pass.
