[Config] ASA 5510 Fire wall Bug

ASA 5510 Firewall
Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.0(3)6
Device Manager Version 6.0(3)58

About a month ago the firewalls memory usage was about
136 MB The only recent change that has taken place since then is installing Cisco anyConnect X64 vpn software and even then the memory usage appeared to be stable at 136MB.

The problem:
The memory usage today is 146MB, cisco says it's due to a bug in the IOS which is 8.0.3(6) and they said going to 8.0.4 would solve the problem, And whats happening is a bug.

Does this sound right, what else could be happening.????

Thanks

What is the Bug ID you are supposedly running into???

could be due to....
Increased # of users using connection from the LAN?
Increased # of users connecting via VPN?

Mine is running at 196mb, using 8.2(1) & I am not worried about it. Unless of course the system complains about running out of memory. That extra 10MB could cause you extra headache with new possible bug(s) you could be running into in the new code. I am sure the extra memory useage is not causing sessions to timeout nor preventing VPN users from connecting.

8.0.anything is buggy for SSLVPN, its full of memory leaks.
8.2 fixed a good deal of those. I would upgrade sooner rather than later.

There have been only but a few home users who complained of getting disconnected quickly. At first I ignored it but now I think I should look into this further. Thanks for the info, it helps

I'd suggest 8.0(4)28 or higher because some vulnerabilities found in 8.0(4) and earlier were found and patched. 8.0(5) is the latest release in the 8.0 line

Thanks for the information
