Canopy SM question/issue

I have a 900Mhz canopy customer that drops his connection intermittently, it's driving me crazy! he has great level and good jitter but he says he drops off from time to time and it comes back on it's own. I am not sure what to look for in the SM. When he comes back online everything looks good.
looking at all settings etc...maybe I have a setting that should be enabled or disabled, or maybe I can look at a log or something...
Also… what the hell is "power save mode enable/disable" on a canopy SM?
I've scowered the planet for an answer.

***DISCLAIMER: CTI IS A DISTRIBUTOR***

If settings are the same as other 900 customers, I wouldn't spend too much time looking into that. My first thought would be interference from something. I have heard everything from farm tractor equipment to baby monitors to even refrigerators.

After you cancel out setting problems, call the customer and take some time to walk through daily habits.

Do you notice a pattern in the drop-outs? It is at the same time or completely random?

What do you call "great level and good jitter"

Does he have a high Reg count or high Re-Reg count?

What are your link effeciency tests like?

I'd suspect either a bad bounce of interference. How high are the CPE & AP. What kind of fresnel do you have ? What's the link profile look like ?

Uptime of 16 and some hours and you have 12 re-reg counts?

Sporadic interference is my guess.

Here is a 5Ghz CPE that I looked at issues on last night, complaints of drops. I adjusted freqs on the ap. Link tests were showing fine but here and there he would get kicked off.
This SM is now up for just over 24 hours.

You think thats bad look at this one.

This guy is less then a mile from the AP I am still trying to figure out his noise issue. He claims NO new thigns added in the last 3 months he has been having the problem YEAAAA right.. Everyone else on the same AP shows 0 or 1 re-reg count..

So in a nut shell lots of re-regs is a pretty good indicator of a noise issue.

That looks like a misaligned antenna. The high jitter on the AP side indicates there is issue with the signal getting back to the AP... I usually see the opposite with localized interference.

now that you mention it i think that is a possibility.

i recall a similar situation here. i also wont rule out fresnel problems...

Changed the channel on the AP yesterday, seems to have helped with the re-reg count. What do you think Phreak?

vastly improved!

how are link tests, and how are the rest of the customers on the ap?

That's what made me decide to change channels, I had a look at all the other customers off thet radio and they all had high re-reg counts. Once I changed channels they have all dropped to "0".
Must be interference at the AP right?

Okay look at this one what do you guys think??? Noise on a channel or local noise? Everyone else on same tower / sector showing 0 re-reg and maybe 1-2 on the session and reg count

I'd be interested in the answer as well.
Because the re-reg is only 1 to me that means the SM trys to re-reg with the AP thinking it has lost connectivity but the AP says nope I see you, and doesn't re-reg.
meaning noise on the client side.
But that's just a shot in the dark...

I have this AP set to channel 924 the other ap 906..

I just switched this one to 915mhz and everyone is associated and I still see 100% success both ways so we will see what happens..

For some reason one of the clients off this ap seemed to only work on channel 924 but 915 seems to work for them I had to hunt aroudn to fid a channel to work. Any other channel and that client drops off. I think local noise on his part..

924 is typically very noisy because of bleedover from the higher licensed bands. I have had zero success in using it.

Probably localized noise, in combination of noise in 924 like Delmarva says.

924 is messy everywhere as he says as well.
