[iO] Cablevision launches Mobile Remote DVR Management for phone

Has anyone had a chance to try this? I can't seem to be able to find it through my phone. They supposedly launched it today.

What happens when you go to Optimum.net on your phone?

Cool. Thanks. I didn't see it. It was 15 pages into the thread.

They can do this, but they still can't upgrade the damn channel guide.

This is a great idea. I expect the other cable companies to follow.

Well no offense to the folks at CV responsible for this... creation... (well okay maybe some) this is nothing more than a very poorly designed web interface that fits into the screen size of an iPhone.

They really need to step up their game... cause what I see above isn't very good and most any 2nd rate web designer could have done a better job with the UI.

And the cable companies want to remove the UI from 'True 2 Way' cable card devices and replace them with **designs** of their own creation and wonder why set top makes like TiVO aren't touching '2way' with a ten foot pole... lol lol lol lol lloll

I have a few problems with this remote DVR feature. You are not able to view complete TV listings. You must first do a search. And if you click on "recorded programs" you see the list from oldest to newest. I have over 100 recordings and want to see the newest first since the oldest ones are for storage. I tried to pick a program to watch when I arrived home and gave up trying to scroll through over 100 recorded programs to find a recent recording. Maybe the list can be like the DVR - you can scroll both ways.

This is meant to give customers a way to set a recording if they are away from home and otherwise would have missed the chance.

It doesn't have to be a full version.

I agree with you and full TV listings might be too much for a mobile device. But why are the recorded programs listed oldest to newest? Remember - this is the mobile version so why am I using it? To see recorded listings from months ago or just a few hours ago?
