Re: Mcafee Expiration? The subscriptions are short term to make sure you are still a customer of AT&T. If for any reason you disconnect AT&T - they don't want you to continue to get free AV.
Might as well put this here as well:
There was a major change with McAfee software for our customers.
Check this out: »www.att.com/gen/general?pid=10935#tab3
New customers who get Express or lower speed packages do not get McAfee for free. There is now a 5$ per month charge.
What about existing customers who have Express or lower?? As of 10/18/09 - those customers can keep the currently installed McAfee for upto a year with no charge...
However - if for any reason you have to reinstall McAfee - you lose this exemption.
After that year runs out - McAfee will prompt you to subscribe and pay for the service. If your still on Express or lower. |

The web site link you offered doesnt differentiate that it comes free at any level, only that a user has the option to purchase it for up to 10 systems at a $5/month charge.
And as far as the expiration date goes, does it auto-update somehow when it compares my package subscription to the current customer list? Or do I have to delete/reinstall when the subscription expires? -- Remember: To err is human. A computer is required to really mess things up! |

| The web site link you offered doesnt differentiate that it comes free at any level, only that a user has the option to purchase it for up to 10 systems at a $5/month charge. That was my first reading. But then I looked again, and the page is specifically titled as "DSL Plan Details - AT&T High Speed Internet Express". I would guess that there are similar pages with details for Pro and Elite levels. -- AT&T Uverse; Zyxel NBG334W router (behind the 2wire gateway); openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.15 |

 | Here's the new wording after logging in at »sbc.software.yahoo.com/getprotected ...
"This security service offers anti-virus and anti-spyware technology, and includes a firewall to protect what you value. The new security suite provides three great services for up to 10 PCs, and for DSL Elite, DSL Pro, Business Elite, Business Pro, and all U-verse High-Speed Products, it is included at no additional cost. DSL Express, DSL Lite, Business DSL Express and Business DSL Lite customers pay only $5.00 per month for up to 10 PCs." |

| Thanks for posting that.
Another change there, is that this is good for 10 PCs. As I recall, it was originally only for up to 4 PCs. -- AT&T Uverse; Zyxel NBG334W router (behind the 2wire gateway); openSuSE 11.0; firefox 3.0.15 |

If you did have the AT&T Yahoo Norton installed then you got 7 licenses (to match what Norton offered). |
