| Apparently their DSL network isn't being totally left out to pasture. There are a handful of markets in Texas that are getting DSL service right now, though whether that's for a sellout to some local company is another question entirely.
I'm guessing the reason Verizon is launching DSL in some of these markets is they know it'll have a relatively quick ROI. There's no DSL there, the equipment isn't that expensive (they can probably serve ten houses with DSL for the price of one FiOS installation) though they can't get nearly the monthly revenue from DSL that they can from FiOS. |
