as for household goods, how many people do you know that are perfectly willing to throw away a say $150 lawn mower every say two years instead of getting it fixed?
how about a tv that will last you say 5 years at 4 hours per day. thats how the tv makers do it.
its like those CFL's with the whole "longer than incandesent" thing, read the fine print and its based on an "average" of 4 hours of use per day.
in other words, companys that sell at walmart cut corners every where they can tho not nesasaraly in the obvious spots. maybe shorter waranties, less "goodies" that come with the product. |

Walmart told Nikon how to make my digital Coolpix camera with 8.3 x zoom that was selling everywhere else on the net for $300-350 and I got at Walmart, on line, on Thanksgiving day (started trying for it at 12:01AM and didn't succeed until 5:03PM) three years ago for $200 (free shipping)? That's interesting.
I guess Walmart also told Sharp how to make my excellent microwave that I researched carefully both price wise and feature wise and found the VERY MODEL all over the net as well as at my local Walmart. It has a 5 year warranty on the magnetron tube and it is over 5 years old now. I use it at least twice a day. It should have fallen apart a long time ago, right, since Walmart told Sharp to cut corners with it?
As for TVs, there are ripoffs on those at all stores. You MUST do your homework VERY CAREFULLY if buying a TV. Walmart and Sears sell some of the same models of Samsung LCDs but Walmart has one model it trots out each year at Thanksgiving from Samsung that is really cheap and the model number very similar to that of the much better Samsung (same size) that Walmart also sells as does Sears. If you research at Samsung and generally on the net you would know because Samsung doesn't hide anything about this cheap model and OTHER stores sell it at Christmas also not just Walmart. But many people do no research. And they can and do get ripped off in ANY store.
As for computer merchandise, you are claiming that Seagate deliberately cut corners on my SATA /300 320GB hard drive? The five year warranty isn't real and I didn't get outstanding service from Seagate? I just imagined that the very same drive in Office Max cost $25 more because you are claiming it is not the same drive as the one in Office Max? Even though the package is exactly the same as is the model number, etc you are saying Seagate was ordered to make it more cheapely for Walmart and to CONCEAL that fact from the consumer by using the same box and label on the drive as what you find in other stores? WOW!!! Gee, I guess I better call my state attorney general and get a lawsuit going against these companies and Walmart!!

You don't go to Wal-Mart for customer service. You go to buy cheap Chinese crap at inflated prices but it's all in one place under one roof 24 hours a day. You go there to think you save a ton of money because you are always looking at their loss leaders. Anything but customer service.
At least they don't have restocking fees.

Yep all the movie stars shop at wall-shit and have all the photo shoots done with Wall-shit clothes. What the hell was I thinking about?
