Sounds like Vodafone's shareholding in VZW is talking. Historically they've always been the network to charge ridiculous prices for little usage on pay-as-you go over here, although that's changing now that they realise that they need to compete. They now charge £15 for 1GB, but you must buy their dongle and SIM. If you browse on a phone it's still the same crap rate.
