| No the Elite 120 is not a clearance item. The 250g one you listed is a Limited Edition and is the only Xbox 360 for now that you can get with a 250g HD. The Special edition is a very good deal , 2 controls plus you get the MW2 game and of course the 250g HD system for 399.00.
I also noticed PS3 now has a 250g version and it's 349.00 and the 299.00 PS3 has a 120g HD.

|  This morning Amazon had an Xbox 360 Arcade for $199.98 with a $100 gift certificate. $100 for an Xbox 360 Arcade seems like a good price. It is now sold out.
Could Microsoft be trying to clear out older inventory?

| I was scrolling through the remainder of the lightning deals Amazon is going to offer today. Mostly out of boredom. I was surprised to see the Xbox 360 Arcade with 100 Amazon credit is going to come back at 3PM ET. Personally I have no use for an Xbox Arcade. I guess if someone really wants it, get ready to order at 3PM (ET) I'm 100% certain they won't be in stock long.
Today seems to be an electronics day sale at Amazon. They had a 46" Toshiba 120Hz LCD TV for $789 (I think) according to the posts on the Lightning deal thread it was sold out in 30 seconds. However I look ahead, and it appears the set may be offered again at 5PM ET. I'm assuming it will sell out in 30 seconds again.
$789 for a 46" LCD TV and $100 for an Xbox Arcade has got to make some shoppers who need these things very happy.

No, the 120GB Elite is still a standard model. the 250GB Elite is a limited/"special" edition one being made to coincide with the launch of MW2.
Unless Microsoft then decides to simply "supplant" and replace the 120GB Elite for a 250GB (or larger hard drive) model, then it will simply return to just being the Arcade and Elite (120) once stock of the 250GB units is exhausted.

To put it simply, hes a overhyped game critic.
What I think Microsoft might be doing is clearing out their inventory of Arcades and introducing the 120gig version as standard and the 250gig model replacing where the 120gig model stands right now for the top model.
