Scheduled Maintenance???

I can't say that it's necessarily every month; but for some reason it seems like on the first Thursday night/Friday morning of the month for a hour or two that we have issues. Like I said I can't say it's every month for sure; but it sure seems that way (including early this morning).

I happened to be asleep for a change; but my roommate remarked that he had issues from around 2am-4am Central time (which seems like what I've seen before).

If it's some sort of scheduled maintenance then I understand that (although if so is there a listing of that somewhere? And if not, I wish there was).

Just wondering. We called tech support this morning; and they said they had no record of any outage (we also had one earlier in the week from around 11pm-1am Central). They wanted to send somebody out which I felt was a waste of time as the problems sure looked to be on their end and not ours.

The time frames you are listing are accurate for scheduled maintenance to occur. There used to be a listing online for the scheduled maintenance's but not anymore. I do apologize that this may be affecting you, but they have to do maintenance during the hours that the least amount of people are online, and unfortunately this can affect some. I used to have the same issue when I worked a different shift, but there's not really anything we can do about it unfortunately.

Tech support SHOULD know about the maintenance, but probably don't. I personally have access to them myself, but not from home so I couldn't tell you for sure right now if that was the case. With all the changes lately it is likely this may happen a lot for a while, because we just took over Embarq and the routing/etc is being updated as we connect both networks together. Again, my apologies. Anything outside of those hours will need to be reported. Sometimes they are from 2am-6pm (depending on the issue), but usually start around 2am for the maintenance and upgrades they do. Sometimes they don't go right, and they have to revert back to old configurations, which results in more time on the maintenance. If a maintenance goes over the window it was scheduled for, it's then listed as an outage and everyone is notified, even the help desk and then they would be able to tell you if something is up.

Have a great weekend.

You're not crazy. I'm a night owl. It seems everything out of the Wentzville POP takes a dump around 2 a.m. on various nights.
It rarely shows up on the maintenance site. I guess they figure normal people are asleep. I get anything from 0 throughput to extremely, painfully, agonizingly slow. I never lose sync or authentication during this time.
I *think* it's probably a vast conspiracy to keep me from breaking the Tetris Marathon world record.

I work 2nd shift, and usually go to bed by 2, occasionally I stay up until 3. I have had few issues late at night, other than earlier this week, it was out when I got home for about an hour to an hour and a half....Sometimes I wonder what we would do without internets....
