1 edit | BOA has become too big!
I refinanced my house in Sept to unload the second mtg and pay it down. First payment due Nov 1st and prepaid via on line 'Bill pay' two weeks in advance of that. Low and behold it didn't come out and that's the first time.
On Saturday I checked and checking had not only remained empty from clearing, but was not even pending. I received TWO letters that were marked *Important changes to your account* Both dated Oct 21st. Between both these letters there were FOUR account numbers.
Monday first thing I called and was told to wait one day (would not check the account numbers), I did....Nothing. Called again and asked "If I made a phone payment would you be able to cancel anyother transaction that has not yet processed?" "Of course" Was the answer(Confirmation number, no notes, nor tracking on who did it) so I did. Wed two mtg payments are made to my checking account.
This is really where the rant starts, I spent more than five hours on the phone with various and sundry "I can't help and the supervisor(s) are not available."
Today I finally got a chance to call my local (Routing number) bank and the manager is not available, we can't help you. I walk myself to a branch close by and was astounded that with both letters in hand, the manager describing the issue in terms 'They' could follow clearly also got the "Sorry, we can't help, but we might be able to take care of this next Tuesday. MEANWHILE, I have not a red cent in checking because of the $300.00 + in overdraft fees; not to mention the double dip on a mtg payment.
Three hours later I get a call from the walk-in bank manager and states my account now has a $4,000 overdraft protection and most of the problem will be cleared by Sat. Nice, somebody managed to get through!
Seems to me there are a lot of bank employees that don't really need a job, they don't want to work then they should stay home or get other employment.
That's a ridiculous number of hops to have to jump through (On line banking/1-800/physical show up and a whole friggin seven days to fix their problem) -Turns out the NONE of the account numbers on either letter were my account numbers.
Friggin amazing.
Thought it might be worth fixing the rant spelling The BOA constricter is working very hard to squeeze the last cent out, based on a failure to do their job!
There are people that CAN do their job, let them try |

| reply to Kiwi I can relate some. I tried to take out a mortgage through them a few months back and wow was that a mistake.
Anytime a problem arose, they couldn't help and a supervisor was just never available. Then finally getting to appraisal, well, they choose people here that will under appraise a homes value. As in, an appraiser will typically look at home values of the homes in the neighborhood to help determine the worth or your home (there is more to it than that but, this a big part in the value). Instead they used values of homes in far edges of the entire city, in the lowest valued parts of the city at that. The home was under appraised and would not pass the appraisal. Yet the next person in line to make an offer with financing from another bank, closed on the home. Before that they wouldn't negotiate with me even when I offered to hire an appraiser at my expense.
Later I just went with another bank and another home which I will be closing on in 2 weeks.
I would suggest refinancing through someone else as I think BOA under appraised your home. Also you will get people who can and will help you. -- "I like to refer to myself as an Adult Film Efficienato." - Stuart Bondek |

| reply to Kiwi a local bank would have better customer service, but then again good luck finding a local bank nowdays.
big national banks are just like the telecom industry, there is a handful of them and they have this nation by the balls and well for many people your choice is customer hating conglomerate_01 or customer hating conglomerate_02. oh and remember even if you get your loan at Customer Hating Conglomerate_01 odds are by the time you need CS they have already sold it to customer hating conglomerate_04. -- [65 Arcanist]Filan(High Elf) Zone: Broadband Reports |
