| Motorola Canopy 5.4 Ghz anyone use them yet?
What kind of performance and distance are you getting with these units etc.
Max distance says 5 miles LOS at lowest modulation and speed.
What kind of pricing have you all been seeig for AP and CPE.

Overall the performance is as advertised, price is the killer though, it's on the expensive side. |

| reply to viperm Are you talking the Canopy PMP100 or the PMP400 series?
The FSK radios (PMP100) are just the regular Canopy and go about 1-2 miles.
The OFDM radios (PMP200) go up to 5-7 miles, but I would still only use them around 1-2 miles for full 21Mbps speeds. |

Pricing on the 100 series should be the same as normal 5.7 or 2.4. If you are talking about the 400 series OFDM (IntraLink said 200 but it is their 400 series) the price point is going to be significantly higher.
If you are looking at the 400 series, I would hold off until the 430 series comes out in 5.4GHz early next year. Pricing should be much more reasonable. That of course depends on timing for your project.

| reply to viperm What are the actual channels to choose from on these 5.4 radios I am trying to get on a tower site and they want me to choose a specific frequency before they process our app. -- ComTrain Certified Tower Climber. 430 line is near/around 900SMC pricing. 400 line is about double that.
"Using PtMP100 there are 9 non-overlapping channels given 25MHz center channel spacing. (This is recommended when using Canopy Advantage equipment.) 11 channels are available given 20 MHz center channel spacing.
ODFM (400 Line): 24 non-overlapping channels are available given 10 MHz center channel spacing." |
