| Embarq mailserver rejects incoming mail with signature block
For the past few weeks I've noticed that some emails that I send out are not being received by the recipient and some emails I'm expecting I've not received. I did several tests and it seems that if I compose a message with a signture block (that contains my business name and website URL) and send it to my embarq mail address (embarq.com) it gets bounced back to me with the following message:
Hi. This is the qmail-send program at smtpauth20.prod.mesa1.secureserver.net. I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses. This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.
208.47.184.2 failed after I sent the message. Remote host said: 554 5.7.1 [SC15] Your email was rejected for policy reasons. Reasons for rejection may be related to content with spam-like characteristics or IP/domain reputation problems. Please contact your Email/Internet Service Provider for additional help.
Worse yet....depending on the ISP sending the message to my embarq account, the sender will sometimes get this bounceback and sometimes will not!! Thus many times the sender has no idea the email never got to me...and I did indeed never get it! I spent 2 hours today with Cust Service who eventually got a CTSC Data Lead Tech in on the problem. Nobody could figure it out but the Data Tech thinks the problem is with my signature block. I don't have a problem with my signature block with any other ISP I work with.
Any thoughts?? |

| More information.. This morning I realized that many of my "outgoing" email messages through the embarq outgoing server did not reach their intended recipients. I ran a test with no signature block but with a .jpg file attachment just this morning. The message never reached the intended recipient and I never received a bounceback message telling me the email did not go through.
So it's not just incoming messages to my embarq server but it seems like it's certain outgoing messages as well.
I've switched outgoing servers on all my email accounts to gmail unti this is resolved. |
