1 edit | Camera that will record 90 mins of video on single charge?
I'm looking for a digital camera that will record at least 90 minutes of video on a single charge and be of at least the quality in the video below in the price range of $300 or less. I do have the following, but can't find any info on how much video they will record: Canon SX100 IS and Canon SD1000. Any suggestions? Thanks.

1 edit | Don't be concerned so much for recording time on a single charge, mainly because they don't give out that as a spec. Instead, look at the type of battery used and the current capacity. Basically, the higher the current, the longer it'll last, but there's a downside to that guessimate: you don't know how much current a camera consumes in a period of time. You could maybe find that in the technical specs, but as consumers are typically not technically savvy as engineers are, they're likely to not be there. Therefore, look at the battery type and the current capacity to get a rough idea. You want lithium or lithium-ion batteries, not regular ones, for example. Don't worry about the voltage.
Even with this guessimate, it's possible for one camera to consume more current than another camera model using the same battery. If that's the case, call the manufacturer and get the current consumption rates. |

| This is for my Canon sd1000: Power Supply Power Source 1. Rechargeable Lithium Battery NB-4L 2. AC Adapter Kit ACK-DC10 Shooting Capacity Still Image: approx. 210 shots (NB-4L/LCD on)* Playback Time Approx. 240 min. (NB-4L)
I'm not sure if the shooting capacity is a good indication, but if playback time is 240 min., the recording time should be at least 90 min. -- »Please check out my friend's band |

| reply to fonzbear2000 »www.traveler-service.com/dv5000u···ndex.htm Paid less then $60 for it. We have 2 of these. I keep one on my belt holster at all times.
I have this camera, it is HD 1080, Don't let the 5mp fool you, it does interlace that 5mp.
I've personally done 4 straight hours on a full single charge recording HD. Required a SD Card, has 16mb built in. The snap shot feature isn't the best, you need to stay very still, however, video recording is great! even has built in Bright LED flash/light, video recording stabilization,

1 edit | reply to fonzbear2000 Here is a video I did last summer. This is when I was still playing with the settings, so it is not the best one, just the HD one I have on Youtube.

You need to click the video, and watch it on the youtube site, so that you can view the HD. Watching it in the frame here will show you a SD image. -- »KmanScooters.com Home of Wisconsin's Most Affordable Cars, Motorcycles and Scooters |

| said by Mdoc :If the DV-5000 performance is anything like that shown in the URLs below, I wouldn't buy it... (youtube clip) That person had video quality settings on low. See my posted video for HD.
Also taken from their YouTube page: "Test Camera - Outside Morning light - Nov 17, 2008 This camera doesn't have steady shake removal capability like the Sony DCR-DVD405 in comparison conditions See link »www.youtube.com/v/L2... "
Camera does indeed have shake reduction. Might not be as good as the Sony, but at a fraction of the price with awesome performance all around, the 5000 works great!
I thought the same thing, I browsed youtube before buying my first one, and saw all crappy video, then, I found one that someone auctually "turned the quality settings up". I was then impressed ^_^ -- »KmanScooters.com Home of Wisconsin's Most Affordable Cars, Motorcycles and Scooters |
