1 edit | Please help.
Hey everyone! Well I have been looking around this site for about 2 days for quite a few hours looking at options and stuff posted by many of you since I can't get cable and won't be able to for years and T1 is way too much, I live in the woods and i'v read many stories like this on the site. But mine is probably worse then most I'd say lol. I want to play xbox live and other games that require that low ping, I'm currently using WildBlue, Great service have no problems except for the low ping I want. Well I found ISDN I was like YEA! Perfect and all then I called and everything and they called back and said it didn't come out here. However I have one last option. Verizon OR as many have you said Millenicom. Well I have a really big question I hope has not been answered I'v just read so much and im tired from it all lol. So please don't bash me if it's been answered. I checked my coverage for Verizon and it says im in the Enhanced service. I was wanting to know what the pings time would be for that? Also my other question was I also looked and I'm not far from a 3G coverage area. I wondered if I got a antenna and signal booster if it would pick up the 3G? Thanks ^.^ |

| Hello, Welcome to the Millenicom forum. To answer your questions, Ping times with millenicom can range between 60-250 but normally people stay in the 80-150. I play ps3 online myself and it works great but keep a eye on your usage with the 5gb cap if your going with verizon, as far as your 3G problem goes, my 3G tower is 5miles away and i pick up the signal great with an antenna, and others have even gone so far as 10+ miles with an antenna and amp. your best bet would be to get the device and use the y cable that comes with it, (it boosts the signal strength some) and if that is insufficient then try getting a parabolic grid antenna and if your still having problems which i dont think you will then the last option would be an amp to boost the signal strength, could you possibly look at the coverage maps and use the mile scale and estimate how many miles you are away from your tower and tell us if your in heavy terrain such as (mountains, hills, and such). |

1 edit | I looked at the coverage area. I am definitely in the enhanced services. How would ping times be if I was just on that just wondering encase 3G can't be reached? But aside from that it shows that I am about 2-3 maybe 4 miles away from a 3G coverage area. I don't know where the tower is though I just know their is like a 3G circle around me in a 5 mile radius 10 for sure. Their for sure is one area 2-4 miles away. So you think I should be able to get it?
I think I'm probably going to go with Verizon as well since I can easly take it back if it doesn't work. I don't have that much money to spend. I know a signal booster isn't that much but what kind of a antenna can i get that won't cost that much? I seen one at Radioshack but idk if it will help. »www.radioshack.com/product/index···=3261331 That's what i was looking at. Will it help any? |

2 edits | Not an option. I have no coverage for them at all. All grey around me. Just roaming and I don't think a booster and antenna would work either. The main thing i'm going to do on it is game. Play stuff like CoD and WoW and other shooters. I can hold of dling anything since Ill be busy playing. |
