60 Minutes did a piece over the weekend on movie piracy if anyone is interested. It was a real hatchet job. I'm afraid the impression they gave the viewing audience was that everyone involved in movie piracy was somehow involved in organized crime and only involved movies being recorded with a handy cam at the movie theater.

They are the bane of Hollywood: criminals who copy films and distribute them illegally on the Internet, costing Hollywood billions in lost revenue. Lesley Stahl reports.

I'd say if it were true it has taken what? 25 years just before they decided to mention piracy will kill the internet? I see some groups infos saying they have been around since 1985

Agreed, but, even if a movie cost 50cents and theater trips a dollar, they would still make money up in the riches area.
If they weren't lazy they would handle the stuff that the **AA companies handle. Cut the middle men out, don't fall for there scare tactics and bs inflated reports. The scare them into thinking they need to join with them. Companies like these are the ones taking money from the artists.

To the topic at hand, I love how they pretty much threat bringing down the net. Whens the govt. going to step in and break companies up like these criminals.

Actors are like athelets, they get paid according to their ability to perform and to put asses in the seats. If the fans didn't show up on game day, then the performers couldn't demand so much in pay.
