Wireless Line Of Sight 1 mile

I am looking for some brands to look at other than the Motorola Canopy systems we have them on order for company use but I want to shoot s shot to our tent "living quarters" but I do not wish to spend 1100 for 1 AP and one SM. Can anyone give me some brands or models to do some research one to shoot a shot 1 mile or less that is on the cheap. We have clear line of sight just no canopy's since there so costly for personal use. If I was going to sell service that would be one thing but this is for 3 guys to have some internet while laying on there cots.

Ubiquity or mikrotik would be your best bet as far as thru put vs cost

mastic is a bear to remove from a connection if you ever have to. But, if it a permanent connect ... nothing better.

So is this for a hunting camp? Living in tents -- do you have electric power on the grid, generator, batteries? Where is the AP going to be located (with other WISP equipment or say on someone's roof)? You have clear line of site -- this means NO trees in the way from AP to CPE -- correct?

reggieth1 .. Not sure if this is what you're looking for ...

There are some higher than normal powered 2.4GHz WiFi devices that may do the job when combined with directional antennas. 1 watt with a 20dB gain antenna shoud reach 1 mile. You may be in for a little experimenting.

Look at the high powered devices (1000mW) and Grid antennas. Once you find the technology you like, Google for other options.

Hope this helps.

Re: Wireless Line Of Sight 1 mile

You've suggested an illegal configuration.
