[IMG] New Favorite Show Description

I have a new favorite show description....

For the SEC Game of the Week on our local superstation:

"College football teams from around the country will intensely compete against one another, as expert analysts give play-by-play commentary and provide information on team rankings, players, coaches, history and much more.
Episode - 55"

Where do they come up with this stuff?

I saw the same thing on my on-screen guide. That's my one complaint about VZ; they are piss poor when it comes to providing accurate info about a sporting event. But it's no big deal; I just use the 'net to get the correct info.

Verizon doesn't provide the information. It's provided by a 3rd party company, they are the ones that suck. That being said, Verizon does need to change providers to someone that is more accurate.

Really nit picking. Verizon contracts and pays the provider, I pay Verizon, therefor Verizon provides crap information.

No, Verizon is paying the provider to PROVIDE the information, therefore the 3rd party is providing the crap information.

Does it really matter on who, what, and where?

The bottom line is the information is crap.

Even though I know and work with several "providers", I admit that sometimes the service sucks. Unfortunately it is the same across providers. Sometimes it is accurate, but more than not it isn't...especially for sports or live shows. i know that some of it is out of thier control, but in this day and age it should be a lot better.

For The Weather Channel weekends at 5pm, the guide description lists two Meteorologists who are no longer on The Weather Channel.

Re: [IMG] New Favorite Show Description

My all-time favorite description is for the Pink Panther on Boomerang:
"The Pink Panther is an heroic, moral cartoon cat with pink fur and the manners of an English aristocrat. He only becomes flustered or angry at obtuse or offensive humans"

Someone got paid to write that. It wasn't me, but I'm now reconsidering my line of work.
