Win 7 Logon scripts

I have a client that went behind my back and purchased a Win7 (64-bit) machine before I was ready to deploy Win7.

I'm having a problem with her logon script. This is a standard batch file using net use..., no .vbs script, not doing it via group policy, etc.

All drive mappings that point to a Windows 2008 server work fine. Mappings to a Windows 2003 server don't show up. Her home directory drive that maps via her AD profile which resides on the 2003 server does not show up.

I'm aware of the LmCompatibilityLevel registry setting as well as the EnableLinkedConnections setting. None of these resolve the problem. I've also seen the notes about using a schedule task to do something with the mappings but that appears to only apply to domain admins logging on to a workstation or when the user has UAC turned on.

She is an administrator on her local machine. UAC has been turned off. (well, set at the lowest level at least)

Any ideas guys?

Well sir, you certainly are helpful.

You don't think I researched this extensively before posting here?

What version of Windows 7? Maybe her version has some limitations?

Seen the 'wsf' script?

...Note how there are sections commented out in his post.

Original MS article which shows the full script is here:

Annoying to say the least.
Security often means sacrificing convenience. Unfortunately, in this case it seems more like a mess no matter how you look at it.

Wonder if '08 servers "getting along" are somehow breaking authentication to '03 servers.
...Are you using server '08 for all roles, or is '03 still handling anything?

Problem resolved.

I had a brain fart - PC had memory card readers eating up drive letters. Didn't even look at that since it was only the 03 server mappings affected - coincidently those were the ones being taken by the reserved leters.

DOH!

How exactly did you resolve it?

I reassigned the card readers drive letters in Disk Management.

Don't feel bad, I've missed that a couple of times myself. Since I didn't buy the machine, I didn't know it came with a one of those card readers.
