I heard about it a while back and was wondering if it was still going on. I got my upgrade free cause of when I got my pc, but I have some friends who got their pc before the free deal started. So is the $30 thing still going on? |

| The best deal is to call the Microsoft store by phone and ask for Windows 7 Professional Full Version for $30. I did this and a few days after 7 came out I got it. Not an upgrade disc, the full version.

If you put in the email, I believe it comes back immediately and tells you if the address qualifies or not. If it does, then you're emailed a link for the purchase. |

1 edit | only information I game was a .edu email and it was approved instantly. My school was not on the list. 1-they send you a confirmation email that your qualified with a log in password using your .edu email address. 2-click on the link they provided and log in with your edu and password they provided, 3-click on the link for the Win7 software. (log in was automatic using info provided above) 4-you have 4 choices. 32 and 64 bit win7 Home and 32 and 64 bit Professional. (note: if you read the line about "your school uses network, etc. That opens up the option for the Professional version) 4-When you select one of the 4 choices the check out amount is $29.99 for the download version 5-you can request a back up dvd for $13.00 6- for $5.95 you can have "extended download advantages" (download again sometime in the future again) 7- No tax, No Shipping fees 8-You can also go back and get back up disk for all 4 options at $13.00 per disk. 9-after you place the order, email goes to the edu address you provided to recap your order and send you "ONE" license key. You only get one license key even if you order all 4 back up disks. 10-after you place the order that same follow up email gives you the link to download the win7 you selected. I did all of this last nite and their was NO WAITING. The email back to me came seconds after placing the order.

Oh, forgot, the price is a steal
HERE is the link to see if you quality. Promotion ends January 3rd, 2010
