Tell them to switch you over ethernet you must connect your ethernet to your actiontec and wait still its switched then you can add your new router to it.

The NETGEAR WNDR3700 is arguably the latest and greatest dual band 802.11n gigabit router. I just configured one for someone a few days ago and I would pick one up myself if I needed a new router. Here's a nice review about it from SmallNetBuilder:

birdfeedr posted : If you have an Actiontec Rev A to Rev D, your NAT table is really limited and shows up in torrents, among other things. If you can limit connection count, that will improve performance. Since I do not use uTorrent, I cannot give you any real settings to try.

The other solution is to replace the Actiontec as primary router. If you are using a Westell router, it's supposed to have a much larger connection table, so that may not be contributing to your performance problem.

Throttling the connection count is your likely fix.

br0k3n posted : Alright, so...I just got 25/15 FiOS installed about a week ago, and I really don't know what's wrong. Download speeds only get up to about 750 kb/s, but upload speeds sometimes reach about 2 mb/s. I use uTorrent a lot as well, and the same thing applies, but what gets me really mad is that it seems the up/down speeds are linked. If I limit one or the other, the speeds suffer. So when I'm done leeching and I go to seed, there's no upload speed because I'm not downloading. I really would like to know how I could make my connection faster/fix the thing with uTorrent, so...help? Thanks. :)
